John Bowker is a professor of religious studies who has taught at the universities of Cambridge, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He has written and edited many books on world religions including World Religions, God: A Brief History, The Cambridge Illustrated History of Religion, and The Oxford Dictionary of World Religions. Sonia Halliday specializes in aerial photography of historical sites, particularly in Israel and Jordan. She has been taking photographs around the world for 40 years. Bryan Knox has been a photographer for 25 years, specializing in such areas as wildlife and stained-glass windows.

You will enjoy the Aerial Atlas of the Holy Land by John Bowker. It is in no way exhaustive, nor would I choose what he did to highlight in the same number of pages, but it is great for what it chooses to cover. I really enjoy its pictures and the maps are sufficient. It is a fun addition to the atlas section of your library.
This book is breathtaking in scope and beauty. I long to go to the Holy Land some day but until then this book is like having your own little flyover of the Holy Land. The text is great too and very indepth. The book is a work of art!
