What would you do if your sister was targeted by a serial killer? How would you deal with her death? Krista has to make a decision. Will she be proactive or take a back seat in the investigation? Can she trust Ryan who may be inadvertently responsible?Terri Blackstock is one of my favorite authors. Her books are full of suspense and always have a solid story. Although this one felt true to the characters and circumstances it was not my favorite. The writing was good but it was more predictable than I suspected but still worth the read.

Terri Blackstock has written a novel that is so timely and so relevant that we should all take note! When young women start disappearing, and later found murdered, it becomes quickly apparent that they are being targeted through an online social network. Krista Carmichael's teenage sister is one of the most recent victims, and Krista makes raising awareness of the dangers of internet predators her personal crusade. But somebody wants to silence her, and will stop at nothing to make sure that her public rantings don't hinder his ability to stalk new victims.Terri Blackstock is an amazing author. I love her books. This one wasn't quite my favorite, though. Although it was well written and serves as an important cautionary tale, there were elements in it that just didn't thrill me... not for any reason other than personal preference. It has an underlying romance, and even though it's pretty subtle, it still follows a predictable formula. And then there is also the element where Krista and her father keep insinuating themselves into the investigation instead of leaving it to the police. Those are minor things, though, and I know it makes a good story to most readers. My favorite part of the novel was actually in the "after word" part, and had nothing to do with the novel itself. It was the reflections of the author. Terri recognizes in herself the tendency to use her prayer time as a sounding board for her complaints, noting a total lack of gratitude, and then examining how that must sound to our Heavenly Father. While people are out there suffering the loss of limbs because of paralysis or infection, God hears her asking God to stop her toe from hurting after she stubbed it on a piece of furniture or something. For me, the "Note From The Author" section was a real eye-opener. Terri reminds us that we should be thankful in all circumstances, even our aches and pains, and that our prayers should be focused less on ourselves and more on glorifying Jesus. So even if I hadn't really liked the novel (which I very much did), the author's personal reflections at the end would have made the book worth reading. And if you're going to pick up the story and read it, be sure not to dismiss the author's notes at the end.

This was a story that had it all: suspense, intrigue, family, a romantic thread, and struggles with faith, It would've been a five star book if it weren't for the first few pages... there were some things that shouldn't have been assumed so quickly before getting the facts much later in the story. I won't list them for fear of spoilers... nevertheless the story was still a great read, if you can overlook that kind of thing. The questions at the end would be great for a Christian fiction book club discussion.

I enjoyed this thriller quite a bit (though I had hints of who did it early on). Predator: A Novel is my first book by Terri Blackstock, and I was not disappointed. The pace is quick without being cursory. The characters are likable though, at times, I found them a bit one-dimensional. However, that was not my overall impression of this novel or its author. I will be picking up another of Blackstock's books in the near future.Regarding the Christian and spiritual elements of the book, I have to report that they were neither overbearing nor stilted. Like many books and films incorporating the spiritual life of its characters, I appreciated Blackstock's efforts to keep her characters grounded.Again, a highly engaging book.

PREDATOR by Terri Blackstock. A gripping thriller, with a lot of truth in it. How easy for someone to hear and get information of a person. In this story of young kids, waiting friends, to connect to them, that they are not alone. No one could imagine, how deadly this became. Was any of them safe, till killer is caught. A sister, who raised her baby sister, is on a crusade , will she be caught, or help find the killer. Great plot, with Bible to guide a person, of where her strength was coming from. Well done Terri.

The whole time I read this, it made me realize that I need to share not only this book but the information with my kids and grandkids who are on social media sites. This not only is a page turner, but it was frightening to really put a face to the evil that is reading everything anyone does when they are one line. Don't forget the tissues.

I read this book in a day, I simply couldn't put it down! From the very beginning Terri got me thinking and turning the pages... This book is about an online predator who kills a young girl named Ella. The predator followed her "thought bubbles" (kind of like Facebook status or tweets). Young Ella updated often with everything from when she woke up, what she was wearing, what class she was in, when she was going to the store, everything was posted right there for the predator to see...and indeed he saw, abducted her and killed her. Now her sister and father are desperatly trying to get closure by catching this predator. Faith is questioned, how could God allow such a tragedy to happen? In the end there is triumph as Terri closes the book with a bang. This book certainly got me thinking about what I post on my social networking sites and will definately do the same for you. This is simply a must read! Not only is it great fiction, but it is an eye-opening book.
